Privacy Policy

Major Travel Plc acts as a Data Controller in order to fulfil our principal status as a tour operator. We collect data so that we are able to arrange and process your customers' holiday arrangements. Major Travel Plc never markets directly to your customers, so be assured, data is not used for profiling in any way, or for any purpose other than that stated above.

Data we collect from you

  • Passenger names
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Passport details
  • Contact details (for visas and entry authorities)
  • Place of residence (for visas and entry authorities)
  • Criminal convictions (where an entry authority requires it)

Data we collect from you

Other travel requests made by customers can require the provision of personal health data to facilitate certain assistance on aircraft and at airports, or dietary requests which may disclose religious beliefs. It is imperative that you obtain positive consent from your customer to receive and process this information.

Requests for visas or other types of entry authority can include contact details, place of residence and criminal convictions. The list above is subject to change at any time.

How long will the data be stored

Three years after the return of the clients from their trip, all held data will be securely deleted except for passenger names, which will be kept to perform necessary accounts functions.

Data that we share

To make sure travel plans go without a hitch, information is passed to our suppliers via reservation systems. We use well-known airline reservation systems, international bed banks, transportation handlers and attraction ticket providers. For obtaining entry visas, data is passed to the relevant country's approval system.

Client rights

If a customer would like a copy of data concerning them currently held, or wishes for any data to be corrected or erased, they should send a written request to helpdesk@major.travel.

They also have the right to raise any grievance relating to data protection with the Information Commissioner's Office, details for which can be found at https://ico.org.uk/global/contact-us/.
