In February 2017 after inviting feedback from our agents, we made the decision to end our direct sell arm and focus entirely on servicing the needs of our travel agents. A business should choose a direction and then make sure it is the best at what it does. And that’s exactly what we decided to do- become the best trade only supplier for travel agents in the UK. We decided that to grow our business, we would do everything we could to make our agents businesses successful.
We don't bite the hand that feed us!
It’s a vicious cycle- agents drive volume to direct sell flight and holiday operators, and then the direct sell operators get overrides that allow them to undercut their agents and sell directly to the public. We felt the frustration of agents, but realised that agents had no alternative- they still had to deal with the direct sell operators as there was little other choice. We decided it was time to break the cycle. We would drive volume from agents and use any overrides to invest back into our agents. Its part of our agent

From 9am - 5.30 pm, our team in Brent Cross are available to take your calls. Sometimes even for just chat when our agents are feeling a little bored and need a laugh! And when Brent Cross closes, we have an amazing team in Manila that take over until 9am the following morning. We are always available for you and your clients- which is always good to know.

From 2018 Major Travel will be able to help your business with overflow calls and calls during the evening and weekend. We will answer calls in your the name of your brand, and take messages or offer your clients a quote. We organise regular training and development events for our agents. These events are designed to help you improve sales, develop your business and motivate staff. In addition to travel related initiatives such as destination, hotel, airline and GDS training, we also run a range of programmes that will help your staff and managers. For managers we run programmes on Employee Motivation, Improving Poor Performance, Dealing With Change and even How To Have a Difficult Conversation. For staff our programme include Negotiation, Communication, and Selling Skills as well as NLP, Closing the Sale ad Consultative selling.

Major Money
Our flagship incentive programme is so successful that sub agents of large travel groups that offer the same product as Major Travel will book with us rather than using their own internal product because of Major Money! Very simply, agents are given a voucher of between £5 and £100 depending on the booking that they do with us. These vouchers can be redeemed at over 100 of the leading retailers on the high street and online.
