Upon landing at Mexico City International Airport, make your own way to the arrivals where a representative will meet you. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where you can settle in before spending the rest of this first day at leisure.

Historico Central

With a stay at Historico Central, you'll be centrally located in Cuauhtemoc, minutes from Zocalo and Plaza de la Constitucion. This hotel is close to Metropolitan Cathedral and Palacio Nacional.

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel and prepare yourself for a Mexico City full-day walking tour. The first stop will be at the Cathedral, Templo Mayor (exterior visit), Madero Avenue and other important landmarks of the Historical centre. Continue to enjoy a magic walking tour surrounding the Colonia Roma, and for lunch (included), you will visit seven stands to taste mouthwatering dishes with the unique flavor that ‘La Roma’ has to offer: the most delicious fish tacos, contemporary dishes, tasty tamales, Mexican wine, craft beer, Mezcal, and heavenly Mexican coffee brewed by extraordinary baristas. Meet the cookers and chefs, listen to their stories, and discover why Mexican gastronomy is world famous. A local expert will guide you to explore the stunning architecture of mansions and buildings, lovely squares, and fountains while you have fun learning the amusing tales of famous people and the backstories of Colonia Roma. Return to the hotel in the early afternoon for a well-deserved rest. In the evening, you are invited to witness a Ballet Folkloric Show, at Bellas Artes or City theatre location and be amazed by the music, the costumes, and the dancing. In the late evening, transfer back to the hotel.

With a stay at Historico Central, you'll be centrally located in Cuauhtemoc, minutes from Zocalo and Plaza de la Constitucion. This hotel is close to Metropolitan Cathedral and Palacio Nacional.

Early morning wake up for a flight on a hot air balloon! Leave the hotel around 5:30am. This amazing experience will take you over the pyramids on an hour flight approx. After landing, first you will have breakfast and shortly after you will join the guide for a walking tour to archaeological Sun & Moon pyramids. Return to the city, for stopping at the famous Guadalupe shrine to visit both, the old and new basilicas. In the afternoon, return to the hotel for lunch (not included). At around 6:00pm, hop on the transfer to Xochimilco and enjoy the night performance show ‘La Llorona’ (approx. 1.5hr drive). In the late evening, transfer back to the hotel.

Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for a full-day tour leaving for Santa María Tonantzintla, visiting its Baroque church, where its talaveresque façade stands out, and the interior is decorated with polychrome. Continuation and view of the archaeological zone of Cholula, the largest pyramidal basement of America, running through a tunnel. Transfer to Puebla, upon arrival, free time for lunch (not included). Shortly after, you will be transferred to the hotel, for check-in. At around 6:00pm, you will be picked up from the hotel reception to visit Atlixco Altars and monumental flower rug.

NH Puebla Centro Historico

With a stay at NH Puebla Centro Historico in Puebla (Historic Centre), you'll be minutes from Bello Museum and Profetica. This hotel is within close proximity of Puebla Cathedral and Rosario Chapel.

Charge your batteries with breakfast at the hotel and prepare for another adventure, today you will depart for a Puebla walking tour. Visit the majestic historic centre that concentrates the largest number of colonial buildings, century XVIII, discover the Cathedral, admiring the interior and front façade. Continue to the Chapel of the Rosary located in the monumental group of Santo Domingo, delighting with its vibrant interior, polychrome in Leaf of gold. Afterwards, have some free time to buy souvenirs, such as typical sweets or objects from Talavera (own expense). At around midday, you will continue to Valquerico, with a unique European style combined with the charm of traditional Mexican villages. Shortly after, free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, you will continue to Chautla Park. One of its main attractions is the 19th century castle, located in the centre of a lake. You will have some free time here (the park closes at 5:30pm). Wrap the day up with dinner at the hotel.

Hotel Mision Grand Ex-Hacienda de Chautla

With a stay at Hotel Mision Grand Ex-Hacienda de Chautla in San Lucas el Grande, you'll be on a lake and minutes from Chautla Hacienda. This eco-friendly hotel is within the region of Xochitecatl Archaeological Site.

Indulge in a delicious breakfast at your hotel and depart to Mixquic town: a little town to the southeast of Mexico City (approx. 70 km), it is known for its traditional celebration for Day of the Dead, it is the graveyard of Mixquic where people come from miles around to see. The families decorate the graves of their beloved ones, and pass the day and night with them, eating, drinking, singing and talking by their gravesides (here you will see the preparation of the holiday during the day). Continue to Mexico City. Day of the Dead Parade in Mexico City (Catrinas & Calaveras) starts around 2:00pm, from Zocalo along 5 Mayo Avenue, Paseo de la Reforma, to finish at the ‘Estela de luz’ Monument. After the celebration, you will be transferred to the hotel. In the evening, around 6:30pm, you will continue with the ‘Mega ofrenda’ that was designed by the UNAM, at Plaza de Santo Domingo. You will be returned to the hotel in the evening.

What do I need to bring?

Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Mexico. However, the climate in autumn can be cold, therefore we recommend to bring warm clothes, a raincoat and umbrella. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
