Welcome to Durban! You will be met at the door of your aircraft with your name on a paging board and assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs. You will then be shown to your awaiting transfer vehicle.

Should your arrival aircraft be directed to the apron and not the terminal, you will be transported to the terminal by bus. As you step off the bus, your Meet and Greet will be waiting for you with the paging board.

Classically Colonial and elegant, the luxurious Oyster Box Hotel is located on the Umhlanga seafront, opposite the iconic lighthouse.

The evocative flavours of India and an era of days gone by is woven throughout the hotel, an opulent feast for the senses. Service and hospitality combine with exquisite ocean views, modern facilities and timeless romance. 86 sea or garden-facing rooms and suites are individually decorated and feature fresh flowers, fruit, bathrobes and slippers. Character design such as glass-roofed wine cellar, charming spiral staircase and wide verandahs add to the enduring grace of the property, and the heated pool, superb spa and lush tropical gardens ensure ultimate relaxation. The Oyster Box has direct beach access, excellent cuisine and a popular gentleman’s bar.

Please note: It is advisable to pre-book for dinner in the Grill Room Restaurant or spa treatments at The Spa to avoid disappointment as both venues have limited space.

All guests are required to provide a valid credit or debit card on check-in. The hotel will pre-authorise an amount equal to R1000 per room per night to cover any addtional charges / incidentals you may incur during the stay. The issuing bank/Credit Car company hold the pre-authorised amount temporarily from the available balance on the card.

If the guest wishes to pay by cash or an alternative credit card on check-out, the pre-authorised amount will be released and can take up to 5-7 working days for the issuing back/credit card to action. Some issuing banks may take longer, especially for cards issued outside of South Africa. The Oyster Box accepts no responsibility for any bank or credit charges should the account become overdrawn as a result of the pre-authorised hold.

Rhino Sands Safari Camp is located on a peninsula of the Msunduze River, within the Manyoni Private Game Reserve. The camp is nestled within riverine forests, built on wooden platforms and under canvas. 4 luxurious tented suites have a traditional east African style, classical elegant décor and all the modern conveniences for superb comfort. Each suite has an attractive living area, en-suite bathroom and an outdoor shower. They open out onto private decks with a pool and beautiful riverbed views. Central guest spaces include a casual bar, lounges, dining areas and a large boma for fireside meals under starry skies. Day and night game drives are conducted through the reserve in search of the animals which call the region home – big 5 game as well as wild dog, cheetah and a variety of smaller animals.

Please note: Check-in is available from 13h00 and lunch is served between 13h00 & 14h00. Guests are asked to arrive prior to this if they would like to have lunch on arrival, and will need to arrive by 14h30 to be guaranteed participation on the afternoon game drive.

Late check-ins are available but must be pre-arranged. Check-out time is approximately 10h30 upon returning from the morning game drive.

Fugitives’ Drift Lodge is located within a natural heritage site, overlooking the infamous Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift battlefields. Owned and run by the Rattray family, respected pioneers of SA’s Heritage Tourism, the property is a tribute to the region’s historic past. 10 luxury suites and a guest house are decorated in a classic, colonial style. Accommodation is spacious and light, each suite featuring a private verandah with vistas over the plains below. The lodge’s central areas boast a collection of memorabilia from the Zulu War, and the Hartford Library, dining room and viewing decks are wonderful spaces to socialise and absorb the ambiance. In between fascinating battle tours, soak in the pool, appreciating the silence and beauty of the location.
