Chicago to L.A Escorted Tours
Chicago, IL
Route 66 links the cities between Chicago and LA, an iconic trip that travellers have enjoyed over the years. This alternate route offers a much more scenic tour and takes in some of the most iconic natural landmarks in the USA! Chicago is an impressive but often ignored city; that is a mistake and a full day tour takes in its highlights including the Lake shore before you head west through farming country to Sioux City and beyond. The carvings of American Presidents on Mount Rushmore are just one of the many interesting attractions on the route that passes through land that was known as the ‘’Wild West.’’ There are places like Deadwood, made famous by Wyatt Earp before you arrive at Yellowstone to see ‘’Old Faithful.’’ There is much more in Yellowstone before you continue through Grand Teton National Park to reach Salt Lake City. The Grand Canyon is the next highlight though the journey to Las Vegas involves several other places of interest. The journey from Vegas through the Mojave Desert to Los Angeles is interesting even if the terrain is somewhat flat.
Highlights
- Find out why Chicago, on Lake Michigan, is known as the ‘’Windy City’’. One of USA’s largest cities, Chicago is known for its skyscrapers but look below the surface and discover much more.
- Visit Iowa’s Sioux City, famous for its museums. The Art Centre displays the talents of local artists while the region’s history is presented at Public Museum and includes a fossil dig replica.

- Can you sleep in Las Vegas; the city doesn’t seem to! It is known for its casinos yet has much more; top international artists performing daily, lovely hotels, fine restaurants and great shopping.
- Travel through the Mojave Desert which sustains more life than just Vegas. You can see this stark landscape in comfort as you head west towards Los Angeles. The wildlife will be elusive of course.
