Depart Vancouver South Terminal on Pacific Coastal Airlines scheduled service flight to Bella Bella where you are met and assisted with a van transfer to the Bella Bella town docks.

The Spirit Bear Lodge boat will pick you up at the dock at for the scenic boat ride to Klemtu and Spirit Bear Lodge for an afternoon arrival. After checking in
and enjoying a late lunch and welcome
orientation. Afterwards, you are guided
to the traditional Big House for a unique
cultural experience. Return to the lodge for
delicious appetizers and drinks, followed
by dinner and an evening at leisure. Lunch
and dinner included.

For each day of your stay, after a 07:00 breakfast, meet on the dock at 08:00 for a full day of wildlife viewing adventure. The activities may include wildlife/bear viewing, kayaking, hiking, canoeing or a cultural site visit. Visit estuaries, stunning inlets and see spectacular waterfalls. Return in time for appetizers at 18:00, dinner at 19:00, followed by an evening presentation on aspects of the Great Bear Rainforest, Bears or First Nations culture.

One evening during your stay you will have an opportunity to visit the Big House.

After breakfast, pack up and depart the lodge by 08:00 to enjoy a scenic boat ride back to Bella Bella of serenity in the Great Bear Rainforest. Arrive in Bella Bella in time to take your Pacific Coastal Airlines afternoon flight back to Vancouver. You arrive at Vancouver South Terminal where your package comes to an end.

PACKING SUGGESTIONS

  • Guests must come prepared for all types of weather
  • The lodge will provide rubberized
    rain gear (jackets and bib pants) and rubber boots in all average sizes, so there is no need
    for guests to bring their own.
  • The following items are suggested, and synthetic fibres, which are warm and quick-drying, are
    recommended: fleece or wool jacket; fleece or wool sweater; pants; long sleeve shirt; warm
    pants; long (thermal) underwear; shirts; extra shoes or sandals; wool socks; warm hat/rain hat with brim or ball cap; warm gloves; sun hat; sunglasses and retainer; sunscreen; biodegradable toiletries; personal medication (clearly labelled); small backpack or bag to carry camera and personal belongs during the day; dry bag(s) or heavy duty zip lock bags to go inside the backpack.

  • Fitness level: Good mobility required for all activities.
  • All bookings are on request
  • Legal Waivers must be signed prior to arrival
  • Special dietary needs will be
    accommodated with notice at the time of booking
  • Smoking is not permitted inside the lodge or during the tours.
  • There is a designated smoking area on the north side of the lodge on a covered deck with a receptacle for cigarette butts. We don’t permit smoking in the lodge, on our boats or on our wildlife excursions. Bears are extremely sensitive to smell so any smoke
    or strong scents, like perfume or personal care products, may adversely affect the wildlife viewing experience of the whole
    group.
  • Itinerary is subject to changes due to weather, tides and wildlife activity
  • Destinations of bear viewing tours may change or be altered to maximize the opportunity for bear sightings on each day
  • Flight Cancellation Policy: In the case of Pacific Coastal Airlines cancelling the flight from Vancouver to the lodge, Spirit
    Bear Lodge will reimburse passengers $150 CAD per paying adult. If this flight is missed due a late-arriving connecting flight into Vancouver Airport, no reimbursement will be issued. It is highly recommended passengers purchase travel insurance to cover such instances.
